Accent Drongen

The first thing the visitor notices at Accent in Drongen is the cozy, warm atmosphere, which is mainly created by the earth tones used. They match wonderfully with the brick ceiling and the black framing of windows and doors. A beautiful harmony was found with the rural style of the building. The entire interior design was created by our in-house interior architect.

This project relied heavily on bespoke work: all kinds of plasterboard walls were installed, such as the curved wall at the entrance. We also took care of the painting.

Near the entrance, a large round silver mirror was hung. The striking burgundy U-shaped sofa bench with rounded corners at the entrance is custom-made. It surrounds a beautiful and elegant Corto Dining Table by Ethnicraft in brown varnished oak. The Wall Shelf Pi by Ethnicraft is also an eye-catcher in this space.

The extremely cosy kitchen also makes extensive use of bespoke work. A natural rug with a black border covers the floor. Around the very successful bar, minimalist Soft Edge bar stools by HAY were placed. They are a collaboration between Hay and Iskos-Berlin, the design duo Aleksej Iskos and Boris Berlin. For the other side of the kitchen, a lovely rounded bench was designed. Three natural-coloured chairs in teak and rattan are arranged along a custom-made walnut table. They complete the picture.

For the meeting area on the ground floor, walnut meeting tables and cabinets were custom-made. The stylish AAC office chair by HAY, with a beautiful beige upholstered shell and a black powder-coated swivel base, radiates calm. We also provided warm grey acoustic panels.

Walls were installed along the beautiful existing staircase. Upstairs, we created the flex workspaces with our sit-stand desks and the electric ACTIVE.T Bench by König + Neurath; these double benches have a walnut-coloured top. The centre panels were given a light grey fabric cover, and black was chosen for the side covers and the frame. The office chairs come from Accent's own stock, but they were thoroughly cleaned and given a 'Second Life'. The joiner built a wall of cabinets under the sloping roof, and rugs and curtains were provided as well.

In a separate small meeting room behind a glass wall, a black meeting table with a Fenix top and Ikon frame was custom-made. The deep black polypropylene classics by Vitra, the Panton Chairs (new height, designed by Verner Panton in 1960), surround it. The curved lines of these design icons are reminiscent of seated people. They are extremely comfortable and look stunning here.
