Allow around 60 cm of table width per person at a long table. Keep at least 100 cm free between rows of tables, so colleagues carrying a full tray can pass each other easily. Combine long tables, where people come together, with smaller tables for those who prefer to eat in peace. A high table with bar stools is ideal as a coffee corner or as an extra zone in a smaller room.

The canteen is often the busiest and loudest room in the office, and it is where acoustics are most often forgotten. Acoustic ceiling elements, wall panels or upholstered benches dampen the noise. That way your staff canteen or bistro remains a place where you can talk in peace, and that is the basis of good hospitality.

Choose tops and seats that you can clean with a damp cloth, because a lot gets spilled in a lunchroom. If you also use the room for events or presentations, choose stackable chairs and folding tables. That way you can clear the room quickly and store the furniture compactly.
