The Arper Aava 02 combines timeless minimalist aesthetics with a genuinely sustainable story. Designed by Antti Kotilainen in 2013 and updated in 2023, the Aava 02 is made from recycled post-consumer plastic, mainly sourced from detergent bottles. On average, 5.6 kg of plastic waste is used to produce 10 chairs, contributing to a true circular economy.
The shell combines recycled glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene with virgin material for a durable, high-quality finish. Each colour contains a different percentage of recycled material, from 5% for lighter colours to 40% for darker shades.
Thanks to its versatile design, the Aava 02 fits into any setting, from the office to hospitality and even outdoors. The chair is also suitable for refurbishment and renewal, which extends its lifespan and reduces its environmental impact.
